Enjoying a flawless skin is not always possible. At one point, you will have to deal with a popping pimple, super oily skin or even the appearance of fine lines. Makeup may work to conceal some of these skin problems, but this is a temporary solution.

It may be quite annoying to wake up to such skin imperfections especially if you are not used to them. You should not let them weigh you down. You are not alone in fighting such skin conditions, and they are common the world over. Here are some of the common skin conditions and how to deal with them.

Zits

These type of pimples appear deeper in the skin and closer to the veins. They are reddish and quite painful. Squeezing them can be quite difficult since they look blind. It is not even advisable to squeeze since you will make the situation worse and may spread to other parts of the skin.

They can appear around the forehead or the chicks making them quite visible. They will defy all your efforts to conceal them with tons of makeup and still stand visibly on your skin. Treat them with an antibacterial to prevent them from speeding to other parts of the skin. If they are quite painful, a warm compress around the area will relieve the pain.

Acne

Battling with acne is one of the most annoying skin conditions. The appearance of pimples, blackheads and whiteheads on the face, the neck, and chest are some of the signs of acne. When you feel you have won the battle against acne other pimples pop up when you least expect leaving you frustrated and desperate.

The urge to squeeze the pimples is usually overwhelming. Once squeezed, they leave the area with acne scars, which become difficult to treat. If you are already suffering from acne, the best approach would be to visit a dermatologist.

The doctor will assess your face and make recommendations. If your skin is prone to acne, giving it optimal care is essential to avoid worsening the situation. For starters, review your skin care products. If they are not working for you, look for products specifically for acne. They are designed to care for such conditions, and will help prevent any breakouts.

Oily skin

Sebum is excellent since it helps your skin stay hydrated throughout the day. The type of skin you have depends on genetics, and there is nothing much you can do to alter it. Though sebum is good for a healthy looking skin, overproduction leads to clogging of hair follicles found in the skin. Clogged pores will exert pressure on the wall of the follicles causing them to break. Consequently, you may end up with blackheads, whiteheads or even acne. The good news is that you can control sebum production with the right products. Avoid use of greasy products, as they will make the situation worse. Use products for oily skin from reputable companies.

Additionally, clay masks are excellent products for controlling the overproduction of sebum. Combine with a cleanser that has benzoyl peroxide as the active ingredient. Such a product will penetrate deeper into the skin and will help unclog and purify the pores.

Sunburns

The fresh air and the beauty of nature make outdoors an excellent place to relax and unwind. Unfortunately, this kind of past time has a hefty price in the name of sunburns. Your work may also involve working all day outdoors whether it’s cold, humid or hot. The weather conditions expose your skin to sunburns, especially on a hot day.

The UV rays scorch your skin leaving a blistery appearance that peels after some time. Once it peels, the skin will look rough and scaly. Applying makeup will not make the appearance any better. In fact, it will look worse and quite noticeable. You do not have to wait for a patch of dark scaly skin to appear on your face. Always ensure you apply sunscreen before stepping out. Carry it with you and keep reapplying throughout the day.

You may not always have a perfect skin no matter where you come from or live. You will experience one of the above skin problems occasionally. Do not panic or lock yourself up in the house. Use the right products to treat the skin condition and be patient since it will not disappear overnight.
